DESCRIPTION:
APW - Hamilton, Grade 950B with original boxes, 23J, 16S, gold-filled OF original Model A case, "Hamilton 23 Jewels Railway Special" marked white enamel DS dial, baton style hands, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, mono-metallic balance with Elinvar hairspring, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#S5015. This example comes with both its inner hard plastic flip-top box in scarce black color as well as its original outer cardboard box bearing end label that is marked with movement and case serial numbers matching correctly to the present watch. CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some small fine scratches adjacent case screws, mild patch of oxide at perimeter of smaller winding wheel; dial with fracture and flaking above seconds-register, some hls in center section; near mint hands; case shows very light wear, some short scratches to rear, shallow dent to rear near center, mild ding at lower rear, ding to band at 6:30, ding or small dent to bezel at 3, minuscule sliver of wear to brass beginning at small portion of rear shoulder; tight bow, crown shows very light wear; plastic crystal with some fine scratches; inner hard plastic box shows very little wear, few small fine scratches, Hamilton foil seal is present to front, blue padded inserts and lid liner are present; outer cardboard box shows medium wear, corners of upper portion are secured with clear tape, end label is partially missing and is covered entirely with clear tape.
